Celebrating the feast of All Saints, we honor not only those, which saw the Church community in their deep Christian, in life full of heroic love, and the Magisterium of Church amounted a saint, but the vast number of saints unknown to us, but the known to God and rejoicing in Heaven - in Father's home and participate in the glory of Jesus Christ. They already had come to destination, to which we strive. Because we are all called to holiness. Lord Jesus calls us to perfect love our neighbours - also the enemies - because so love God - and says (in the Sermon on the Mount, The Gospel According to St.Matthew 5, 45): "Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect". In this expression, Christ tell us about perfect love of our neighbours .
In childhood, through baptism, we've been called by God. We didn't chose Him - that God has chosen us, when He caused, that our parents have asked the Church for the baptism for us. In the baptism of water and the Holy Spirit we were called by God by name, cleansed by the power of the Holy Spirit from sin and transformed in the children of God and the disciples of Jesus Christ. We have been turn on in Church - mystical body of Jesus Christ (cf. 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13), we've become the temple of God Himself in the Holy Spirit and part of the Church as living stones of God's great temple (cf. 1 Pet 2:5), as guilty twigs inherent in the trunk of the vine - and the trunk is Jesus Christ. We've become, each of us, a part of God's people - a priestly people and a royal, living in order to bring God abundant fruits of the good and proclaim to the whole world - God's love revealed in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
In vocation to holiness there is no difference between a priest, monk, nun and a lay person. Everyone is equally called to love God all by myself and own neighbours and the whole world created by God. The detailed vocation specifies certain forms of life and work - service to God and people. But in every form of this life you can love. We also learn about it from many beatifications such different people, also a small St. Teresa, recently proclaimed Doctor of the Church, or also St. Francis, when he created the Third Order of Little Brothers, composed of lay persons, living in families and working in different occupations.
What is the pursuit of holiness? Certainly not multiplying the prayers and devotions. They can help us in trusting God and loving Him and neighbour. They also somehow express our desire to worship God. But the Lord Jesus said, that not a man for the Sabbath, but Sabbath for a man. Prayer is to help us in hearing God's call - within the meaning of His will in devotion to God in daily life. But becomes holy a man in everyday life - in relation to work, neighbours, the whole world, also the natural world. In everyday life we can become the poor in spirit, that willing to share it what we have and not trusting money and the human power but God Himself. We can, realizing the blessing of Jesus, solicit for justice of the Kingdom of God, cry over evil, comfort the sorrowful, to have for God clean, open heart, to build peace, show mercy, forgiving those, who are our debtors, to love up to running the risk of persecution.
Against the demands of the Gospel we didn't grow up - we are still sinners recurent. but we are also on the way to holiness - that is, towards the full unity with God in this love, which gives up the Holy Spirit and completes the love of neighbour, which is also a gift of the same Holy Spirit.
In this way to holiness we are strengthened by the sacraments. Especially need to remember about the grace of Holy Baptism, Confirmation, the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, which unites us with holy Jesus Christ - Son of God, in the Holy Spirit. Sanctity human - even the greatest of, isn't the work of our human, but the work of God Himself. He sanctifies us and leads to a full life of God's children, which the fullness for each of us purposed. We can let God to work in us through His Spirit, or we can flee before Him and close the door of our hearts.
Our roads are often winding, we depart and we return. And therefore there is after death a purgatory - that's state, in which we must be cleansed from the all, which isn't love - which is selfishness, complacency, rebellion against God, incomprehension and mud. He - God, who is Love, in this also shows His mercy, that those who though Him and people loved a little for life on the Earth and they didn't rejected firmly at the time of the transition to the other side of life, purifies and brings to Himself. The existence of purgatory is our great hope to come to the fullness of that love, which is the Sky - even when, when we don't reach to it on the Earth. Also in this hope we pray on the day of All Souls for all the dead, many of whom there are already saints, but many also passing state of purification. For them we offer prayers and Masses to God, and in them the Lord Jesus, whom the only victim on the cross we are saved.
We go to the cemeteries, we remember our loved ones, who have gone. But somehow not enough in us the hope of the resurrection with Christ and also achieve through us fullness of divine sonship, holiness and all joy in the communion of saints in the Kingdom of God to which we are called - not only we who are in the Church, but the whole of humanity. Therefore we are in the Church to cooperate with God for the salvation of the whole world. Let's live this hope.
